Pax Dei Bounties (pax-dei-bounties.com and its Discord bot) is a fan-made community project run by an independent developer ("we" or "us"). It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the makers of Pax Dei, Discord, or YouTube. This page explains what information the service handles and why. It describes how the service actually works today. If that changes, we will update this page and the date above.

The short version

What we get from Discord

When you use the bot in any way (a slash command, a button, a form, or even picking your game server in the welcome channel), Discord sends us information about you. We store:

Each time you use the bot, we update the stored name and avatar. If you change them on Discord and don't use the bot again, the website keeps showing the old ones.

A Factor or the server owner can also add you to our records without you using the bot, for example when they make you a Clerk or onboard you as a Patron.

The bot can see our Discord server's member list and roles so that it can manage House roles and count Patrons. It does not read the content of messages in the server.

If you log in to the website with Discord (this isn't currently linked anywhere on the site), we ask Discord only for your basic profile. We don't receive your email address or your list of servers, and we don't keep Discord's access token.

What you and others tell us

What is public

"Public" means anyone on the internet can see it on pax-dei-bounties.com, and it may appear in link previews when someone shares a page.

Your Discord user ID, Discord username, avatar name, chest location, flags, notes, and votes are not shown on the website.

Inside our Discord server, the bot also posts activity that other members can see. For example, a claim's video link is posted in the bounty's thread as soon as it goes to review, and the review votes are posted there when the review ends.

YouTube

Claims use YouTube videos, and this service uses YouTube API Services. When you submit a link, we ask YouTube whether the video exists and can be viewed. We store only the link. We don't store the video, its title, or anything about your YouTube account, and we never download or re-upload videos.

When you view a page with a claim video or thumbnail, your browser loads it directly from YouTube. YouTube may place cookies or similar technology on your device and collect information about your visit. Google's handling of that information is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. Use of YouTube content is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service.

Cookies

We don't use cookies to track you, and there are no analytics or advertising cookies on this site.

Who we share information with

We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it for advertising. Information reaches others only in these ways:

Logs

Our application logs record which page or bot command was used and when, so we can fix problems. They don't record your IP address. Logs are limited in size, so older entries are deleted automatically as new ones are written. Like almost every website, the systems that deliver the site to your browser may record standard connection details, such as IP addresses.

How long we keep information

Nothing is deleted automatically, except login sessions, which expire after 30 days. Records of bounties, claims, payouts, and staff pay are kept for as long as the service runs, so that each House's records stay complete. If you leave our Discord server or give up your patronage, your past activity stays on the site unless you ask us to remove it.

Your choices

Children

The service is not meant for children. You must be old enough to use Discord where you live (at least 13) to use it. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes, we will also post in our Discord server's announcements channel.
